YONGZHENG FOUR-CHARACTER MARK IN BLUE ENAMEL WITHIN A DOUBLE SQUARE AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735) Finely potted with gentle rounded sides rising to the everted mouthrim, exquisitely enamelled in gradations of vibrant blue to pale blue tones to depict a panoramic river-landscape featuring monumental rocky cliffs with a waterfall emptying into the near-distance towards a lone pavilion on a rockwork ground, connected to an island hamlet by a winding foot-bridge, the base of the eight jagged mountains in the far-distance shrouded in mist, further detailed with two fishing boats sailing on shallow currents and steering through smaller island boulders, inscribed with a seal, Shouru, in ruby-red enamel, followed by a short poem executed with black enamel, and ending with ruby-red enamelled seals, Shangao and Shuichang, the interior decorated with two phoenixes and clouds in anhua, the base enamelled with the reign mark within a double square 3 11/16 in.
