Elisabeth Vellacott (British, 1905-2002) Study of Rocks signed lower right "Vellacott" pencil on paper h:43 w: 56 cm Provenance: Purchased from the artist's studio, 1968. Other Notes: Elisabeth Vellacott's remarkable drawings of rocks and mountains were made on summer trips to the Isles of Scilly, the Welsh Borders and Anglesey. Vellacott made numerous sketching trips to the area around Llanthony in the 1950s and 1960s, and the present drawing draws on these influences.
