A FINE AND RARE DOUCAI 'CHICKEN' CUP YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN DOUBLE-SQUARES AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735) The exterior of the flared sides delicately painted with two varying scenes depicting a cock, a hen and chicks, enamelled in yellow, green, black, aubergine and iron-red tones, each divided by tall rocks in underglaze-blue washed tone, one sprouting a small palm and yellow day lilies, the other partially concealing a red-flowered rose bush, the lip with a double-line border and the foot with a single line, the reign mark inscribed within double squares on the base 3¼ in. (8.2 cm.) diam.
