Figurine, Paris, chez de Poilly, 1656 [or slightly later], a collection of 58 etchings on laid paper, all near-contemporary copies in reverse of male and female soldiers, numbered 1 - 42, and 45 - 60, trimmed near or to the plate mark, some minor marks and discolouration to sheet edges, sheet size 147 x 96 mm (5 7/8 x 3 3/4 ins), or similar, all tipped-on to six later 19th century or early 20th century pale blue-green sheets of backing paper, the etched title with original pen and ink coat-of-arms and inscribed 'en 58 Estempes, Marquis De Muso', outer wrapper with handwritten label to upper cover 'Figures of Men & Women Warriors - after Salvator Rosa', and below in pencil '60 plates, 43 & 44 missing' QTY: (6)
