Al (Blood) Black (American, 1946-2025), oil on board landscape painting depicting a serene Florida waterway with lush tropical foliage, palm trees, wading birds, and reflective waters rendered in the Florida Highwaymen tradition. Signed lower right "A. Black." Black was a founding member of the Florida Highwaymen, the group of African American landscape painters active in Florida during the 1950s and 1960s, and was mentored by A.E. "Beanie" Backus (American, 1906-1990). Presented in a distressed wood frame with gilt accents. The verso bears a presentation inscription reading, "Friend Bob Al Black to Elaine." Work Size: 24 x 29 in. Dimensions: 25 X 28.5 X 2 in. Condition: Good overall condition with typical mild age-related surface wear.
