JOSEP GRAU-GARRIGA (Sant Cugat del Vallès, 1929 - Angers, France, 2011). "Composition", 1991. Mixed media on paper. Signed and dated in the lower left corner. Measurements: 50 x 74 cm; 73 x 95 cm (frame). Composition of symbolic and expressive character in which Grau-Garriga articulates the scene from a powerful contrast between the dark frame on the left, with a red shape suspended inside, and the human silhouette on the right. The work combines watery stains, graphics and strokes of color, creating a dynamic atmosphere and open reading. A key figure in the renewal of contemporary textile art in Spain, Josep Grau-Garriga also developed an important production on paper, marked by material experimentation and the expressive use of the sign. His work is represented in institutions such as the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, the MACBA and the Museo Reina Sofía.
