Lot description

Norman Lindsay (Australian, 1879 – 1969) Adolescence Facsimile Etching 1923. Australian "Adolescence" is an iconic composition by the legendary Australian artist Norman Lindsay (1879–1969). Created as a detailed etching in 1923, this piece is a high-quality, limited-edition facsimile etching. The intricate, classical-style artwork depicts a dynamic, crowded, mythical scene filled with expressive, fluidly drawn nude figures celebrating youth and beauty under a garland floral archway. It is pencil-signed in the lower right as "Norman Lindsay 1923," with the title "Adolescence" in the center alongside "No 18" and "55." The etching is presented in a modern frame bearing a sticker on the verso from the "Ferguson Frame Gallery."
