Ib Kofod-Larsen (Hjørring, 1921–2003), possibly Christensen & Larsen, 1956 Pair of U-56 or "Elisabeth" model armchairs. Stained beechwood frame with tapered front legs and angled rear legs that extend the frame; slender, curved arms (two arms restored); faux leather back cushions and black leather upholstered backrests; perimeter trim with exposed studs. Designed in 1956 and presented at the Copenhagen Guild exhibition, the Elisabeth armchairs embody Ib Kofod-Larsen's finest tension between structural lightness and ceremonial presence. Their high, almost sculptural backrests and the continuous pattern of the wooden arms create a recognizable silhouette, making them an icon of 20th-century design. The name, associated with its acquisition by Queen Elizabeth II in 1958, reinforced its international profile. Dimensions: 70.5 × 77 × 79 cm
