Douglas (Robert) Sophie Arnould Actress and Wit, one of 500 copies, with 7 hand-coloured copper-engravings by Adolphe Lalauze (frontispiece, title-vignette, 3 plates and head- & tail-piece), 4pp. advertisements at end, extra-illustrated with the insertion of c.70 engraved portraits, some hand-coloured or partly so, all mounted or tipped into blank leaves, tissue guards, bound in lilac goatskin, by the Adams Bindery, covers with elaborate floral border and drooping blooms onlaid in orange and green goatskin and tooled in gilt, spine titled in gilt with similar onlaid compartments and five raised bands, olive green doublures with onlaid masks and flowers in yellow and red within border of purple goatskin all tooled in gilt with swords, daggers and trumpets, signed at foot of front turn-in, green silk moiré linings, t.e.g., others uncut, spine a little rubbed and browned, slightly faded at edges, joints repaired, 8vo (binding c.245 x 165mm.), Paris, 1898.
