Viggo Langer (Danish German, 1860-1942), oil on board landscape painting depicting a serene countryside scene with a flock of sheep along a winding path beside a stream leading toward a village nestled among rolling hills and distant mountains. Rendered with soft atmospheric handling and naturalistic coloration characteristic of late nineteenth and early twentieth century European landscape painting. Signed and dated 1933 lower left. Presented in a gilt decorative frame. Provenance: Property from a Jupiter Island, Florida estate. Work Size: 17.25 x 24.75 in. Dimensions: 22 X 29 X 2 in. Condition: Good overall vintage condition with typical age-related surface wear and toning. The frame exhibits normal storage wear along the edges and corners.
