Georges Ricard-Cordingley, French 1873-1939- Sailing boats on still waters; oil on canvas, signed and dated 'G. RICARD-CORDINGLEY. 90' (lower right), 37.5 x 55.5 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, Spain. Note: The present work is a characteristic example of Ricard-Cordingley's atmospheric marine landscapes, and recalls, for example, a strikingly similar depiction of a sailing boat in tranquil waters which sold at Pillon, Le Touquet, on 14 November 1993, lot 46 (£4,270 hammer), and another of his oils which sold at Claude-Aguttes, Neuilly-sur-Seine, on 13 April 2020, lot 66 (€2,196).
