LEONARDI LEONCILLO (1915 - 1968). UNTITLED (1950 -1952). (Dimensions refer to each individual handle) The work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Enrico Mascelloni and will be included in the catalogue raisonné currently in preparation. A rare example of Leoncillo’s production conceived for architectural integration, this pair of handles was modelled in the early 1950s, at a moment when the artist explored ceramics as a medium capable of transcending the boundary between functional object and sculpture. Within this context belong the celebrated handles created for Villa Modugno in Rome, which represent one of the most significant references for this line of research.. 17,50 x 26 x 19,50 cm.
