Davis, Gene (Washington D.C., 1920-1985). An abstract composition featuring a rhythmic arrangement of narrow vertical stripes in lavender, orange, pale blue, yellow, green, and gray against a warm tan ground. The painting exemplifies Davis’s signature exploration of color interval, repetition, and visual rhythm. Acrylic on canvas. 1970. Signed and dated on verso. 24" x 30". Frame: 25" x 31".
