James McMullan (Irish-Canadian, 1934-2019). This exhibition poster was produced for a Hampton Library auction held in Bridgehampton on August 6, 1988. The artwork, executed in a watercolor style, depicts a reclining man reading a book in a summer setting. The print is an offset lithograph on paper. The top blue border contains the text Auction, Bridgehampton, August 6, 1988, while the bottom border features THE HAMPTON LIBRARY in stylized capital letters. The work bears a printed signature reading M C M U L L A N and a handwritten signature in blue ink reading James McMullan 89 in the upper right corner of the image area. The print is housed in a dark blue finished wooden frame under glass. The reverse features a circular label from Triton Gallery located at 323 West 45th St, New York City.
