Lot description
This original color lithograph, also described as a chromolithograph, by Marcel Mouly (French, 19182008) is titled Nature Morte au Damier. The artwork presents a mid-century modern still life composition featuring a white pitcher with yellow accents, a deep blue bottle, and a bowl filled with orange fruit. These objects are set upon a table against a backdrop of green and gold patterned wallpaper adorned with two small framed black-and-white graphic prints. The piece is hand-signed M. Mouly in pencil in the lower-right margin and hand-numbered 121/300 in pencil in the lower-left margin. A Certificate of Authenticity is attached to the verso of the frame, identifying the artist, title, and edition details, and noting that the work was printed at Aloys Litho in Paris in 1992.
