This expressionist pen and ink drawing on toned paper is by Gustav Rehberger (American, 1910-1995). The composition depicts seventeen nude female figures in various anatomical and gestural poses, rendered with energetic and fluid linework. The work is signed by the artist in stylized cursive in the lower center. The drawing is housed in a polished metal frame with a dark brown mat. Included with the lot is a Certificate of Appraisal from Richard Beau Lieu and Associates, which titles the work Nude Female Study, 17 Figures, dates the piece to circa 1980, and notes provenance from Small World Gallery, NY.
