Louis Ritman (American, 1889-1963), oil on canvas depicting a lush forest landscape with dense trees and foliage. The composition features a deer in the foreground walking through a shaded clearing, rendered with expressive brushwork and layered tones of green, brown, and muted highlights suggesting filtered light through the canopy. No apparent artist signature. The verso retains a label for R. H. Love Galleries, along with a stencil and a canvas stamp reading The Canvas of Louis Ritman Distributed by Maurice Ritman, Adm., adding to the works provenance. Unframed and mounted on a wood stretcher. Dimensions: 32 X 26 X 1 in. Condition: Good to fair overall vintage condition with typical age-related surface wear and toning, most notably along the edges. There is a visible scratch at the center of the composition. The edges and corners shows general wear consistent with age and handling.
