MATTHEW MCNALLY (AUSTRALIAN 1873-1943) LANDSCAPE WITH A FARM signed and dated M.McNally 1922 watercolour on paper 22 x 31cm; 8 3/4 x 12in 42.5 x 49.5cm; 16 3/4 x 19 1/2in (framed) Property from a Private Collection, Surrey Provenance Arthur and Florence Barrett, Melbourne (purchased in the early 1900s) Barbara Barrett, London (grand-daughter of the above) Thence by descent to the present owner, niece of the above Artist, art critic, book reviewer and writer, McNally devoted his painterly career to working in watercolour which were often praised for their 'poetic charm'.
