Lot description
This pair of white glazed porcelain vases was produced by the German manufacturer Rosenthal as part of the studio-linie collection and designed by Danish artist Bjorn Wiinblad. The set includes one flattened oval shield-shaped vase and one tall cylindrical bud vase. Both pieces feature blue transfer-printed decorations on a white ground. The shield-shaped vase depicts a stylized female figure holding floral sprays on the front with a single floral sprig on the reverse. The cylindrical vase features a full-length female figure in an elaborate gown framed by an arch of roses and scrollwork. The base of each vase bears the green underglaze Rosenthal studio-linie Germany factory mark. The shield vase includes a blue facsimile signature on the lower front body. The cylindrical vase base includes a blue printed attribution stating design: Bjorn Wiinblad followed by a facsimile signature. Dimensions 9.00"H Weight 1.10 lb
