Lot description
Unsigned. Inscribed "Karl Caspar, Noli me tangere (Entwurf)" and the numbers "3952" and "1624" on an old label verso on the stretcher. We would like to thank Felicitas F. M. Köster, Haus Caspar-Filser, Brannenburg am Inn, for the expert information. The painting 'Noli me tangere' is the smaller version and the draft for the two large versions which were created in 1942 and 1944. The beautifully landscaped garden could be a reminiscence of the owner of the painting, Jella von Bullion. She was a horticultural architect and had designed the artist couple's garden when she was young.
