Albert Solon Aeromaritime vintage poster c. 1937 39.25 h x 24.75 w in (100 x 63 cm) Aeromaritime was established in 1935 by the shipping company Chargeurs Reunis to extend its maritime network into the air across West and Central Africa. Designed by the self-taught artist Albert Solon, the poster reflects the clear geometry and bold color typical of commercial graphics of the period. The image centers on the Sikorsky S-43 flying boat, which linked Dakar to Pointe-Noire along the Atlantic coast while connecting inland points such as Cotonou and Niamey. Pointe-Noire served as a key southern terminus and port within this combined air and sea network. Imp. de G. Mont-Louis, France Provenance: Estate of Seymour Stein This work will ship from Chicago, Illinois.
