RICHARD AVEDON (1923–2004) | Brigitte Bardot, Hair by Alexandre', Paris 1959 Image size: 34.2 x 24.9 cm English Gelatin silver print, printed in the 1980s on double-weight semi-matte Agfa paper 35.7 x 27.7 cm, in very good condition. Photographer's studio stamp, studio's typographic title stamp, stamp "This is a photographic copy of the original to be used for publicity only", and reproduction stamp on the reverse. This print of one of Avedon's most renowned portraits was produced for promotional purposes and therefore is not in the same price range as signed prints from the original negative (which fetch six-figure sums on the art market). But as this beautiful baryta print comes from Avedon's studio, it can definitely considered a collector's item. Deutsch Silbergelatineabzug, geprintet in den 1980er-Jahren auf kartonstarkem, halbmattem Papier 35,7 x 27,7 cm, in sehr gutem Zustand. Rückseitig Studiostempel des Fotografen, Studiostempel mit typografischem Titel, Stempel "This is a photographic copy of the original to be used for publicity only" sowie Reproduktionsstempel. Dieser Abzug eines von Avedons berühmtesten Porträts wurde für die Presse zur Bewerbung angefertigt und liegt daher preislich nicht in derselben Liga wie signierte Vintageabzüge (die auf dem Kunstmarkt sechsstellige Summen erzielen). Da der attraktive Barytabzug aus Avedons Atelier stammt, kann er durchaus als Sammlerstück gelten.
