Looking at the Cyclades, we are confronted with a cultural landscape from earliest Greek history that challenges both viewing and contemplation. It is also the terrain on which those who reconstruct prehistory – from archaeology to psychoanalysis – operate. … Martha Jungwirth is largely familiar with the mythology of the Greek landscape. She has, however, no intention of illustrating it, but is rather interested in self-experience and finding her own way of dealing with the mythical primeval landscape.
