Oil on canvas, 1966, signed 'Henry Koehler' lower center, signed, titled and dated on the reverse. 39 in. (diameter), unframed. Note: Artist Henry Koehler had an affinity for artichokes, both as a subject in his work and as objects he collected. In his paintings and works on paper, Koehler often verged on abstraction in his artichoke compositions, as here. This work is also in a tondo format which was unusual in the artists' body of work.
