Lot description
A matted and framed color lithograph of Stanley Mouse's “Tuesday Night Jam” print, signed by Mouse below his characteristic mouse doodle in black marker. Created to commemorate the Dead's weekly jam sessions at the Carousel Ballroom, the print features a purple bottle with a pig wearing a bowtie and a label that reads “Tuesday Night Jam / $1 / Carousel.” Along with Alton Kelley, Stanley Mouse's psychedelic posters for the Grateful Dead, Journey, Styx, and others came to define the look and feel of the 1960s. His relationship with the Dead developed organically, with Mouse and Kelley living across the street from the band's 710 Ashbury Street residence.
