Desch (1873–1934) was an American painter celebrated for his impressionistic portraits, figure studies, and genre scenes created in the early 20th century. Born in Philadelphia and trained under notable artists including William Merritt Chase and Charles Hawthorne, Desch developed a refined pictorial style that often featured elegant representations of young women and everyday subjects, capturing light and color with a lyrical sensibility. He was active in artistic communities in Provincetown, Massachusetts, and New York, exhibiting regularly with groups such as the Provincetown Art Association, and his work appeared in galleries and auctions throughout his career.
