Lot description
Khalil Ibrahim portrays a vivid scene of fishermen absorbed in their daily labour, capturing the physicality of their work. The figures are arranged closely within the frame, creating a compact and intimate composition that emphasises collective effort. It's all about teamwork. Spatial depth is articulated through the gentle waves and sandy shoreline, establishing a natural setting that anchors the activity in a coastal environment. At the same time, Khalil draws the viewer's attention to the colourful patterns of the fabrics worn by the fishermen.
