First edition, limited issue, quarto; number 108 of 400 numbered copies from a total edition of 500, signed by Welty in ink before the half-title and Anne Tyler at the end of her introduction; illustrated with a color frontispiece photograph portrait of Welty and reproductions of her black-and-white photographs from the 1930s and 40s throughout; bound in black cloth-backed marbled boards, ruled and lettered in gilt, pictorial endpapers (lacking original slipcase); 8 7/8 x 8 3/8 in.
