Lot description
(American/Massachusetts, 1867-1945). Mixed media watercolor and pencil. Tonalist landscape with figure by a lake or river. Murphy was a member of the Boston Watercolor Club, The Copley Society, and a professor of art at Harvard University. Signed with monogram, identified on verso with an old label. Sight size: 7 3/4" high x 7 1/2" wide. In a modern gilded frame under glass measuring: 12 3/4" high x 12 3/4" wide. Good condition.
