Carl Wagner (German, 19th/20th Century). This 19th century miniature portrait hand painted on an oval porcelain plaque depicts a young woman with long auburn hair adorned with red poppies, executed in a Romantic style. Signed Wagner lower left. The artwork is housed in an octagonal faux ivory frame featuring cream-colored tiles with a decorative metal inner bezel. The reverse is partially covered with a degraded paper backing featuring French text titled PHILOSOPHE AUX YEUX VERT. Dimensions5.00"L x 5.50"H
