Lot description
Les escaliers de Paris, 1934 BRASSAÏ Black-and-white photographic print of Les escaliers de Paris, originally photographed in 1934 by Brassaï. The image presents a bird’s-eye view of the stairways of Montmartre, illuminated by streetlights and surrounded by advertising signage. The photograph exemplifies Brassaï’s masterful use of light, shadow, and contrast and is considered a landmark of pre-war Parisian photography. This work is a later archival print, produced as a black-and-white digital print with glossy lamination and hot foil stamping. Printed by SERAG using a Misomex mounting press (CTP process) and mounted on a wooden support.
