Lot description
Ogle Winston Link (1914-2001) Locomotive 382 blows steam, Virginia United States, 1955. Black-and-white photograph, duotone offset print with warm gray tone and glossy finish. The image depicts a Norfolk & Western Railway steam locomotive crossing a bridge in Virginia, releasing a dramatic cloud of steam. This work stands in contrast to Link’s renowned night shots with ultra-powerful flashes, highlighting instead the monumental presence of the steam train in daylight. Issued as a validation print in 1994, printed at Snoeck Ducaju & Zoon, Belgium. Accompanied by a Certificate.
