Dewey, Alfred James (American, 1874-1958), Bride Waiting for the Groom, undated, c.1920s, oil on canvas, relined, signed lower right, 36 x 26 inches, framed 44 x 33 inches. Dewey specialized in calendar illustrations and landscapes. Provenance: Personal collection of Edward J. Grzybowski, co-owner of Tri-State Antiques in Canonsburg, PA. Ed was well known and respected in the field for his vast knowledge of antiques and decorative arts, particularly 20th century design.
