Lot description
Two original watercolor and ink paintings by Alaska artist Joan Arend Kickbush (1926-2006). Kickbush was celebrated for her depictions of Alaskan Native life, particularly the children she encountered while teaching in Savoonga, Alaska. The smaller artwork is a solitary boy with his hands in his coat pockets, signed in the lower right, c.1961, and the larger artwork depicts two figures dressed in kuspuks and mukluks, featuring fur-trimmed details, signed in the lower left, c.1962; it appears to be slightly loose in its frame. Both are matted and framed under glass, with the larger measuring approximately 18.25" x 11" overall with a sight view 16" x 8.75".
