Lot description

An original watercolor on paper by the renowned Alaskan artist, Byron Birdsall (1937-2016), titled "Kincaid Snow Banks". The painting depicts soft snowbanks in varying shades of blue, deep enough to cover trees and much of the landscape of Kincaid Park in Anchorage, Alaska; Birdsall has used mica mineral powder in a white shimmer to make the snow more dimensional and striking. It is signed and dated 1979 in the lower right, in the artist's customary block letters. Matted and housed in a complementary silver-toned frame, it measures approximately 20.25" x 26.25" overall with a sight view of 13.75" x 20".
