Lot description

An important original oil on canvas by Alaska artist Scott McDaniel (1926-2012)- the largest work we have ever offered by the artist. McDaniel is known for his majestic landscapes and wildlife paintings of Alaska, including many ice tundras, snowy mountains, the aurora borealis, and alpenglow sunsets. This artwork depicts a sleepy early spring landscape of Denali (Mt.McKinley); the tip of the mountain lit with the last of the day's sun, featuring soft purples gradually getting darker as the sky meets the wilderness, with a small cabin visible on the lower right. Artwork is signed in the lower right corner; it is framed, titled en verso, and measures approximately 36.75" x 46.5" overall with a sight view of 30" x 40". Note Regarding Shipping Services: This item is exceptionally large and/or heavy, and may require custom boxing or crating depending on the intended destination and available carrier services.
