Landscape with Mercury holding his staff in his hand. Fifth plate from a series of six 'Ornamental Designs with the Judgement of Paris' in the form of medaillions set against a dark background with grotesques. Suitable as design for gold and silver smith's. The print is an exact repetition of the Collaert set but without the signature. A work by anonymous from late 16th to the early 17th century. The print is an excellent impression presented in a suitable high quality ornate black reeded wooden frame.
