Lot description

Nice ink drawing with grey wash after the drawing by Cornelis Dusart with the same subject now in the Schlossmuseum in Scherin. A town-crier walking towards right while beating a gong, a couple beyond, a boy advancing from right background, roofs of buildings in background. With the name ' Corn: Dusart' handwritten on the mount. There is a simplified related print drawing by Bernard Schreuder/Ploos van Amstel in the British Museum (Museum number 1856,0712.148) our drawing however is more sophisticated and has far more detail.
