Wilhelm Velten 1847 St. Petersburg - 1929 Munich - Farm - Oil/canvas. 36.5 x 57.4 cm. 46 x 66.5 cm (dimensions with frame). Signed and localized lower left: W. Velten / Munich. Frame. Scratches in the lower left area. - Lit.: Th.-B. XXXIV, p. 209. Velten studied at the St. Petersburg Academy 1867/69 and since 1870 under Diez in Munich. In Munich, he painted scenes of equestrian and camp life of the 17th and 18th centuries, soldier and hunting pictures. Represented in museums in Munich, Prague, and Buffalo.
