Gyrth Russell, Canadian/British 1892–1970 - Harbour scene; oil on canvas, signed lower right 'Gyeth Russell', 40.7 x 50.8 cm (ARR) Note: the artist worked as an Official War Artist for the Canadian Government during WWI and taking part in the Canadian War Memorial Exhibition, in London, in 1919. Russell exhibited widely in Britain in the early 20th century and his works are in many public collections in the UK, particularly harbour scenes of Cornwall and Devon similar to the present work.
