Bernard Meninsky, British 1891-1950 - Portrait of a woman combing her hair, 1916; watercolour and pencil on paper, signed and dated lower right 'Meninsky 1916', 28.2 x 21.2 cm Note: in 2025, a similar work by the artist also from 1916, sold for an auction record at Christie's. These beautiful early works demonstrate the influence of the artist's training at The Slade, with its delicate draughtsmanship that is reminiscent of Augustus John and William Orpen.
