Titled and inscribed on a label of the Herbert Menges art gallery, Hannover, on the reverse. Frame. - Lit.: Vollmer III, p. 373. Erich Mercker was a landscape painter and based in Munich since 1906. Grand Golden Medal of the Paris World Exhibition 1937. Mercker is considered an important industrial painter of the 20th century. He created views of various industrial plants, including the Rheinhausen steelworks, the Goldenberg plant near Cologne, the August Thyssen plant, and the Gutehoffnungshütte.
