BIOGRAPHY: Herbert Weintraub was born on November 2, 1934, to Leon and Gertrude Weintraub. One of his earliest memories was of flying pigeons with his father atop the roof of their Bronx NY apartment - an experience that he truly enjoyed. His family which included his sisters, Mildred and Carol, would later move to a house in the Throgsneck area of the Bronx on Logan Ave.In his youth, Herb's favorite pastimes were playing stickball with his friends and drawing pictures. Those two things would carry through his life with his love for baseball and a future career as a professional artist.
