Lot description

acrylic on hardboard, assemblage, 65 x 47,5 cm, verso signed and dated: K. Malich 63. Authenticity certificate by Professor Tomas Vlcek, emeritus director of the collection of modern and contemporary art at the National Gallery in Prague, renowned expert and friend of Karel Malich and author of the book Vlcek o Malichovi (Vlcek on Malich), dated February 4, 2026, enclosed. Further consulted with Dr Irena Zantovska Murray HonFRIBA, Professor Jaromir Zemina, Dr Jiri Machalicky and Vladimir Lekes. Malich's work is characterized by internal cohesion and distinctive symbolism, which stems from his lifelong relationship with nature and personal experiences, as well as from scientific knowledge of physics and cosmology. The work on offer has a touch of minimalism, evoking a sense of spirituality but also of constant movement and change.
