Lot description
oil on cardboard, 26 x 34 cm, signed and dated lower right: Ot. Nejedly 1915. Consulted with Dr Irena Zantovska Murray HonFRIBA, Professor Jaromir Zemina, Dr Jiri Machalicky and Vladimir Lekes. Authenticity certificate enclosed. This work represents the artist's inclination towards an expressively tinged idiom of landscape painting. Otakar Nejedly emphasized the impasto of the paintwork and its color structure. It evokes the impression of a dramatic, almost restless landscape, typical of Nejedly's work from the period of the First World War.
