ATTRIBUTED TO PIERRE DAVID MORIER Around 1705 Bern - January 1770 London MYTHOLOGICAL SCENE Red chalk on chamois-coloured laid paper, watermark .... ''G. ... I HONIC''. 34 x 24.8 cm (sheet size), 40 x 30 cm (frame size). Monogrammed at the bottom of the sheet on a letter: ''D.M.'' and dated ''1765''. Inscription in pencil by a later hand at the bottom of the sheet: 'David Morier 1705-1770. Minor fold marks, slightly soiled, corners partly min. preserved. Framed behind glass. I HONIC'. 34 x 24,8 cm (Blattmass), 40 x 30 cm (Rahmenmass). Unten im Blatt auf einem Brief monogrammiert: 'D.M.' und datiert '1765'. Unten auf dem Blatt in Bleistift von späterer Hand bezeichnet: 'David Morier 1705-1770. Kleinere Faltspuren, leicht verschmutzt, Ecken teilweise min. best. Hinter Glas gerahmt. Provenienz: Westdeutsche Privatsammlung.
