Hermann Dudley Murphy (American, 1867 - 1945). Venetian Canal Scene. Oil on canvas board, signed with artist's monogram "M" center right (10 x 14 inches), the reverse with printed label for "Emilio Aickelin/ Articoli per Belle Arti/ via 22 Marzo 2378 - 2038;" in a period Arts & Crafts frame. Frame: H: 20.5 in., W: 24.5 in., D: 2 in. Provenance: Descended in the family of Walter Kimball, prominent Boston art dealer and framer whose gallery was located at 19 Arlington St. in the early 1900's.
