Lot description
Littorio Del Signore (Italian-Canadian, b. 1938), Avant La Nuit, an atmospheric coastal sunset executed in the artist’s signature palette-knife technique. Brilliant layers of red, magenta, gold, and violet illuminate the sky and shimmer across the water as the last light of day meets the approaching night. Silhouetted foliage and distant evergreens create depth against the intense chromatic glow. Signed L. Del Signore lower left. Presented in a wide gilt frame with linen liner. Sight - 11 x 13 1/2. Frame - 20 1/2 x 23 1/4.
