Guy Georget Ducretet-Thomson / Television vintage poster c. 1960 48.375 h x 32.5 w in (123 x 83 cm) The French company Ducretet-Thomson, originally founded in the 19th century to make scientific instruments and later producing radios and early television sets under the merged Ducretet and Thomson names, used such visual campaigns to promote its consumer electronics in the booming postwar era. This mid-20th-century poster for Ducretet-Thomson televisions shows a simplified profile of a human figure with a TV antenna atop the head in a limited color palette, reflecting the playful yet graphic style Georget brought to commercial advertising in France after his start in travel posters in the late 1940s and later work for clients like Air France and Philips. Numbered to upper left '27-45'. Synergie Edit, Paris This work will ship from Lambertville, New Jersey.
