Eugène Carrière, French 1849-1906- Etude de mère coiffant son enfant; red chalk on paper, signed 'Eugène Carrière' (lower right), 27.3 x 19.1 cm. (Import VAT charged on the hammer price). Provenance: A Private Collection of French Naturalist Painters. Note: Eugène Carrière began his artistic education in Strasbourg at the École Municipale de Dessin, and later studied under Alexandre Cabanel (1823-1889) at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He made his debut at the Salon in 1878.
